Two knowledgeable, and experienced local
companies have teamed up, to offer diving in the Dry
Tortugas Ecological Reserve, Marquesas Reefs and the Florida
Keys wreck trail to a select number of divers.
R/V Tiburon Inc. and Dive Key West Inc. would like you to
join them aboard the comfortable Research Vessel Tiburon and
experience an outstanding diving adventure. Come spend a
relaxing week learning about the natural history and
scientific research currently taking place here. Dive the
sites that are featured in National Geographic, the
Discovery and History Channel specials. Take a class at the
beginning of the week and become a certified Fish Identifier
for R.E.E.F.
Participants will gain an increased awareness concerning the
importance of the ocean’s ecosystem. This learning
experience will give you the ability to share in the
collection of important data and actively pursue an attitude
of stewardship.
These unique excursions are designed to be more than a live
aboard diving getaway. The Research Vessel Tiburon spends
much of the year working these same waters with top name
scientists studying coral, sharks, turtles, and other
wildlife. These expeditions offer divers an opportunity to
share our staff’s unique insight into the underwater world
that is the jewel of the Keys.
Snorkelers are welcome. Our custom tender is perfect for
getting to the shallow reefs.
