Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Key West late afternoon. Board the research vessel Tiburon, settle into your stateroom. Join the crew for orientation and a safety briefing at 5pm. Refreshments and snacks served onboard. Have dinner at one of Key West’s famous restaurants or at Safe Harbor Marina. Spend the evening onboard or in town. All passengers return by 10 PM for an overnight departure.

Day 2
Wake up inside the Tortugas National Park. The morning's diving begins with Texas Rock and Lighthouse reef. After lunch, explore Loggerhead Key and snorkel or dive Little Africa reef. Our anchorage this evening is in front of Fort Jefferson. After dinner, enjoy an evening presentation on conservation projects taking place in the Dry Tortugas. A night dive is optional.

Day 3
Awake to an early breakfast and get underway for a day of diving in the Tortugas Ecological Reserve. This is the largest protected area in the U.S. territorial waters and contains the most pristine formations of coral in the Keys. Diving Sherwood Forest and the Bat Caves are the highlights of the day. Return late afternoon and go ashore on Garden Key to explore historic civil war Fort Jefferson.

Day 4
The Tortugas banks are so big and coral heads so numerous several days are needed just to get a glimpse of all there is to see. Day 4 of diving finds us back on the banks maximizing our bottom time at Dante’s pinnacles and other locations. Spend the late afternoon diving the Dutch shipwreck “Killian” sunk in 1907, now resting in 1 to 18 feet of water. Covered with a magnificent carpet of Gorgonians she is home to several nurse sharks, Goliath Grouper and an amazing formation of coral gardens.

Day 5
After breakfast we embark on the day’s diving, exploring more formations in the Tortugas Ecological Reserve and diving the large labyrinth of corals in the park’s Southwest channel, finishing with Bird Key reef. After dinner we depart for the Marquesas Islands. Dolphins, turtles and sea birds are often sighted on the way. Spectacular sunsets are common.

Day 6
Awake anchored off the beautiful Marquesas archipelago. After breakfast dive the reef line off the chain or spend the morning on an island excursion. By kayak or tender explore the mangrove and sea grass ecosystems. Picnic lunch on the beach, after our final dive we depart in the late afternoon and return to our home in Key West. Enjoy a farewell dinner onboard. The night is spent at the dock for those with flights the following day.

Day 7
A continental breakfast is served before disembarking from the Tiburon by 9AM. Depart Key West.
