RB was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and moved to New York at age 5 and began working on North Eastern fishing boats at age 11. After High School he was trained as an Aviation Electronics Technician in the United States Navy Reserve. After the Navy, RB worked as a consulting engineer for ten years responsible for design, construction and operations oversight of three different antifreeze distillation facilities. After learning to dive he moved to the Florida Keys in 1998 and for the past 10 years was Director of Public Works Director for City of Key West. RB Has been serving as consultant for the RV Tiburon for 7 years and over those years served as a mission specialist for numerous projects including designing and building shark cages for TV productions for Jeff Gordon and Discovery channels Myth Busters.
Today he is chief engineer and executive officer of the Tiburon. He has extensive underwater experience and holds numerous advanced diving certifications including nitrox and rebreather diver.
