Daniel P. Taylor is the founder and former Chairman and CEO of ManagedOps.com, Inc., a leading information service provider headquartered in Bedford, New Hampshire. Founded in 1987, Dan oversaw the growth of ManagedOps.com into a recognized regional industry leader, earning recognition as:
Under Dan’s leadership, ManagedOps.com formed strategic partnerships with such industry leaders as Siebel Systems, Microsoft, Great Plains, Cisco, Compaq, and AT&T to deliver a unique package of services for managing customer business systems over the Internet. Today, ManagedOps.com delivers integrated computing and business services platforms enabling companies to compete successfully in today’s marketplace.
Dan was a founding member of the ASP Industry Consortium and active in many industry associations and trade groups. As such, Dan was selected by Accounting Technology magazine as a "Technology Pacesetter" 5 years in a row beginning in 1998.
Taylor received the 1999 Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the New Hampshire High Technology Council, and was named a NH Leader for the 21st Century by Business NH Magazine. In 2000, he was named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2002, Dan was named by the Union Leader to the "40 Under 40" list which recognizes the most successful and influential individuals under 40 years of age in the State of New Hampshire.
Appointed by Governor Jeanne Shaheen, Taylor is a member of the New Hampshire Workforce Opportunity Council, the New Hampshire Information Technology Strategic Planning Commission, and the New Hampshire Information Technology Task Force. He is also on the boards of directors of The Salvation Army, Newmarket International, Inc. (a leader in software systems for the hospitality industry) Campagne Associates (a leader in fund raising systems for non-profit organizations) and is a member of the Board of Incorporators for The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and on the Board of Trustees of the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences. Taylor is also a founding member of "e-Cares," an innovative program formed by New Hampshire high-technology companies that helps local communities and non-profit organizations obtain financial assistance and volunteer support.
In January of 2003 Dan founded, along with his brother Tim, an organization named Research Vessel Tiburon, Inc. based in the Florida Keys. RV Tiburon currently owns one 65 foot research vessel, and is dedicated to supporting marine research and exploration throughout the Caribbean basin. Focusing primarily on shark, dolphin, whale, turtle and coral research, RV Tiburon currently works with Mote Marine Lab, National Geographic, the Ocean Conservancy, the Oceanic Society, Florida Marine Research Institute, Albion College, Louisiana State University, Florida State University the European Institute of Underwater Archeology, Sustainable Seas, and many other well respected institutions.
